About This Collection

When Richard Ellis passed in an instant in December of 2024, he left me more than memories — he left me the keys to his legacy. That is why this offering is called the Legacy Collection: it represents the life’s work of a great man who spent decades building one of western Montana’s most respected fine jewelry institutions, RP Ellis Fine Jewelry. Western Montana's go-to for the finest jewelry.

I never expected to be the one carrying forward a jewelry legacy; my world has always been aviation, not gemstones. But Richard’s impact on this community, and the craftsmanship he poured into his showroom, deserved to be honored, protected, and continued with care.

As the court-appointed Personal Representative and surviving spouse, it became both my responsibility and my privilege to steward what he built. In those first days, I made a promise to his mother, his family, and his closest friends that I would honor him in every way I could. This collection is my first attempt at fulfilling that promise.

I do not claim to be a jeweler — but I knew Richard, and I know the integrity he demanded of every piece he selected. To ensure that standard remains, I’ve surrounded myself with trusted industry professionals who help guide the accurate and ethical representation of each item.

Every piece offered here comes directly from the RP Ellis Fine Jewelry showroom and reflects the quality Richard was known for: exceptional gemstones, thoughtful design, and authentic craftsmanship.

This site was created in the quiet hours, built with respect for his life and the work he devoted himself to. It is not meant to replace him; it is meant to preserve what he created and ensure these pieces continue their story with people who will appreciate them as much as he did.
